Calendar System

Posted on 19 Feb 2013 @ 5:52pm by Commander Volus tr'Keirheol

Hello everyone,

Prior to today, the exact date of the Hobus Supernova has been unknown to us. Previously, I was using the date from the Countdown comic book which had the star going supernova on June 13th, 2387. However, this ended up not meshing well with the rest of Bravo Fleet's timeline. In an effort to get everyone on the same page, they've officially declared that April 13th, 2387 be the day the star goes supernova instead.

While at first this upset me a little bit, I've come to the conclusion that I don't think it impacts us very much. Story-wise we will be adjusting the end of this current mission with an idea I had so that more time passes by so that we can be on par with everyone else. From a technical side of things I'm going to be abandoning stardates altogether and going to a more Romulan approach for the dating system.

Here's a link that describes it:

The good news is that for the most part you guys don't even have to worry about any of this. In missions we use MD# for simplicity's sake and I used Stardates just to mark off the start of our mission. So... pretty much.. we're not terribly affected by this other than a few storyline changes that will need to be done but it shouldn't be anything that's too serious.

If anyone has any questions please do not hesitate to contact me via e-mail, PM or through our OOC thread.

J.P. / Subcommander Volus
