A Couple Of Announcements

Posted on 06 Jun 2013 @ 11:33am by Commander Volus tr'Keirheol

Hello everyone. I just have a couple of announcements to make.

Firstly, Anthony (our Mr. Lhaerth) has chosen to step down from his posting as Task Force Commanding Officer for Task Force 93 which is the one that the Imperiax is a member of. From a personal standpoint, he will be greatly missed from that position as nobody else within Bravo Fleet has given me the benefit of the doubt or the encouragement to continue on with the Imperiax like he has. And above all else, he has been a good friend and an easy person to talk to. As of right now I don't know how that is going to impact his position and character here on the Imperiax. As I haven't heard anything from him yet I'm going to assume and hope that it's probably good news. However, I've always been a huge advocate of real life comes first.

Anthony's replacement as the Task Force Commanding Officer for TF93 has already been named. JonM has been appointed as the new Task Force CO. Here is the announcement:

Yesterday, it was announced that @AnthonyT will be stepping down as TFCO of Task Force 93. Over his tenure as a CO, TFXO and TFCO, Anthony has served with distinction, contributing greatly to discussions both here in Task Force 93 and throughout the Fleet. His presence will be greatly missed, but, as he is stepping away to further pursue his education, let us all wish him the best of luck!

In lieu of the fact that Task Force 93 does not currently have a TFXO, I've been asked to step into the role of acting TFCO until such time as a replacement is appointed. A passionate CO in the Task Force myself, I am excited serve in this capacity, and I look forward to working with everyone here as we chart a course through a new era following the Treaty of Nelvana and the redrawing of our area of operations.

In the coming days, I will posting announcements and opening discussion on a number of topics for the task force, ranging from our latest canon developments to reactivation of the newsletter to increased outlets of communication within the task force. In brief for now though, while Anthony's departure is bittersweet news, I'm still very enthusiastic about the future of Task Force 93, and I look forward to working with you all as we move forward. Please feel free to reach out any time with any questions or thoughts you may have!

The next announcement that was requested of me to make is more along the larger scope of things for Task Force 93. Alot of it doesn't necessarily apply to us as the focus of most of it has to do with the Starfleet ships. So in regards to our upcoming storylines involving the Klingons and the Remans.. that will pretty much stay as is for the time being. Regardless of that, here is the other bit of information that was requested that I pass along.

As we embark into a new era, one that's seen our departure from Romulan territory, the reintroduction of the Raeyan Sector, and the creation of a corridor between Romulan and Klingon space, we have a vast array of opportunities for storycraft; rather than relegate our stories solely to the simms on which they take place, why not let them become part of the greater collaborative narrative that is the task force as a whole? To this end, and also simply to give everyone opportunities to get to know each other a bit better, I'd like to highlight a few communication outlets:

- The Task Force 93 forums have been cleaned up and reorganized a bit. To keep up on the latest in the task force, keep an eye on the Announcements forum. In addition, Canon Development forum has been introduced that serves as a place for us to plan, collaborate and connect regarding the proceedings and future of the task force's story. Finally, I'd also like to call attention to the In-Character forum; while it's historically seen limited use, please think about sharing some of your simm stories and episodes as they pertain to the broader goings-on the task force.

- A new channel #TaskForce93 has been set up on AceIRC (Bravo Fleet's IRC server). Whether you're a regular in #bravofleet or new to IRC, I'd like to encourage you to stop by to chat about the task force and its canon, Star Trek as a whole or anything else that comes to mind. A web client for IRC is available on, and more details on AceIRC can be found at

- The Task Force Newsletter will be kicking back off in July, and issues will be released every other month. Just as in the past, these issues will offer readers a glimpse at what's happening throughout the task force. If anyone is interested in getting involved with the publication, or if you've got a topic you'd like to have highlighted in the Newsletter, please feel free to get in touch with me. It is my hope that this becomes a useful resource for all of us to understand the exciting developments occurring throughout our theater of operations.

- The Bravo Fleet Infobase is a great place to chronicle the details of your simm, the background of your characters and the proceedings of events in our universe, of course keeping in mind consistency of the canon. If you've got a wiki article for your character or simm but haven't updated it in a while, I'd like to encourage you to do so, and if you don't have a wiki article at all yet, why not create one? If you do not have access, please create an account and then request access in this thread.

While I have known about the Infobase for a long time, I have chosen not to add the Imperiax to it for the time being. Time for me at the moment is scarce as I'm studying for a couple of exams and I also have some questions about it that I need to ask the people higher up when I get the time to do so. Also, I don't know a whole lot about wiki stuff so it would probably take up more time than I actually can give right now. Running two simms is hard. :P

Anyhow, that's pretty much it. It's nothing that really affects us to be honest. Let's keep it going guys.. let's finish this mission so that we can get on to some new stuff. :D As always, if any of you have any questions for me please let me know.

J.P. / Subcommander Volus
