Mission: Revealing Truths
Location: Deck 10 - Bridge, Wardroom
Timeline: MD4 - 0818 Hours

Imperiax moved slowly towards the planet Trelleb II. Lyirru watched as the planet grew larger on the view screen. He wouldn't openly admit it, but sitting in the command chair once again gave him a nostalgic feeling of when he commanded his own ship during the war. The nostalgia soon wore off as he remembered the strains and burdens of command. He was happy to serve aboard this fine ship under her distinguished Commander.

The Centurion couldn't help but wonder why they approached the planet under cloak and that there hadn't been any staff briefings about this mission. Of course, he knew that some missions had to be need to know but this one seemed....different.

"Decurion Rhhaein, time until we enter standard orbit?" He asked.

"In approximately seven minutes, Centurion." Rhhaein answered. Rhhaein turned her head to Lyirru. "Are there any special precautions I should be performing?" She asked him.

"Continue silent running." Lyirru ordered. "Are sensors picking anything unusual up?" He asked curious as to why they were there.

"Sensors are picking up nothing unusual." Rhhaein replied. "It appears to be just a normal planetary system. Not sure why we are cloaking but we are still hidden." Rhhaein was clearly annoyed that they didn't know the reason for all the secrecy.

Lyirru clenched his fist. Still nothing that gave away the reason they were in this system. He suspected the Tal Shiar were pulling the strings to this mission. He still believed the Tal Shiar should be disbanded, they were more trouble than they were worth.

"Continue with Standard Orbit procedures." Lyirru ordered before tapping a button on the arm of the command chair opening a secure and private channel to Volus. "Bridge to Commander Volus, we shall be entering orbit within the next couple of minutes." the Centurion reported.

"Acknowledged," replied the Romulan from over the comm. "I will join you on the bridge shortly."

Lyirru nodded his acknowledgement and closed the channel. "Keep doing passive sensor sweeps of the system. I want to know the second something shows up."

"Yes Centurion." Rhhaein answered. Rhhaein still didn't know what she was looking for but watching the sensor sweep kept her mind busy.

When news of the Imperiax's impending arrival to Trelleb II reached Volus' ears, he was eating breakfast with the Subcommander in the wardroom. It seemed that their time together was going to be cut short much to his chagrin. He enjoyed having breakfast with his officers. One could say that he looked forward to it every day.

Volus wiped his mouth with his napkin and then took hold of his mug of khavas. "Do you have everything that you need for your mission?" he asked Dhael.

"I do." Dhael nodded, taking a steadying breath. Her mission should be simple but nevertheless she was going into a situation on her own and it felt dangerous.

"Then I will not keep you," he said to her. Volus stood up from his seat and put down his mug. "Jolan tru Subcommander. Be safe and return unscathed."

"Jolan tru Commander." Dhael bowed her head, "I will return with the information we seek." she said in a voice that held conviction.

Volus certainly hoped so. He nodded back to her. In the short time that they'd known each other through their service on the Imperiax, Volus had come to appreciate Dhael's talents. She was a good Subcommander. He didn't want to lose her.

Her back stiff with tension, Dhael left the room, bound for the shuttle that would take her into a situation that was totally unknown and potentially dangerous.

As soon as Dhael departed for the hangar bay, Volus ended his breakfast earlier than anticipated to go to the bridge. Upon his arrival, he found Centurion Lyirru in the center seat overseeing ship operations. "What's our status?" the Commander asked aloud as he emerged from the back entrance and made his way to the command level.

Lyirru noticed the Commander's arrival on the bridge and quickly vacated the command seat for his usual position at Warbird Control. "Imperiax is in orbit of the planet. All stations are awaiting further orders, Commander." He reported.

Volus nodded as he sat down in his chair. "Maintain current cloak and alert status. Shortly, Subcommander Dhael will be leaving the ship aboard one of our shuttles. She is going to the fifth planet. Decurion Rhhaein, please keep a sensor lock on the shuttle at all times."

"Yes Commander." Rhhaein replied. "Will maintain sensor lock at all times."

Then Volus addressed Lyirru. "Centurion, run continuous scans for an emergency transmission on a Tal Diann frequency. Hopefully there won't be one, however, if there should be I would like to know as soon as it appears."

"Aye, Commander." Lyirru replied with a nod, curious as to why he would be scanning those particular frequencies. "Is it wise to allow the Subcommander to leave by herself?"

"She would not be if it was up to me," Volus replied with a sigh. "Those were the terms she was given. We just have to hope that there are no surprises waiting for her."

"Should we follow her?" Lyirru asked as he set up his console to scan the Tal Diann frequencies.

"No but have the ship ready to depart on a moment's notice," the Commander told him. Even though they were cloaked, it was unlikely that anyone could detect them even from orbit.. but Volus didn't want to take the chance. He didn't want anything unexpected to happen to Dhael because of his intervention.

Lyirru nodded before tapping a few commands on his console ordering a shuttle be prepped. "Would you like me to remain at my post or await further instructions in the shuttle bay?" He asked, after turning his seat round to face the Commander.

"Remain at your post," Volus requested. "I expect that it won't be long until we hear from her, one way or another." And that was if they would hear from her at all. While Dhael's mission to Trelleb V was straightforward there was always the possibility of something unexpected occurring where a secret meeting was concerned. Hopefully she would be alright. At the very least, Volus knew that she could take care of herself and that thought in itself was greatly encouraging.
